Egyptian Sobia
Sobia is well-known as a healthy drink for iftar in Middle Eastern countries. However, it is more popular in Egypt, where Sobia originated.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons rice powder
2 cups water
3 cups skimmed milk
4.Sugar (as needed)
5. 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
6. 2 cups coconut milk. If you don't have coconut milk, you can use grated coconut.
How to make
If you don't have rice powder, you can grind 3 tablespoons of fragrant rice in a grinder. Make sure the rice powder is very fine.
Put the rice powder in a bowl and pour some water into it. Shake it a little and keep it in the refrigerator overnight with a lid (at least 6 hours).
Pour the rice powder and coconut milk, along with the water, into a blender and blend for a while.
Strain through cheesecloth or a fine strainer.
Pour into a glass and refrigerate until cool.
If you want, you can sprinkle various types of chopped nuts on the glass before serving.
