Bangladesh's future may be like Palestine.

                                               —Mohiuddin Mohammad

I don't see Palestine as a territory. I see it as a pattern. Bangladesh's future may be like Palestine. The country has all the signs of becoming Palestine. You look at Hamas. Hamas does not recognize Israel's 'right to exist'. They believe that it is legal to kill any Israeli citizen. If they had nuclear weapons, they would have used them on Israel long ago. In fact, the common people of Palestine are peace-loving. Much like ordinary farmers and workers in Bangladesh. But Hamas is not like that. Hamas has similarities with the Facebook Islamists of Bangladesh. The attitude that Hamas has against Israel is the same attitude that Bengali Palestinians have against India. Hamas has some semi-educated religiously imprisoned intellectuals, whose intelligence led Yasser Arafat to reject Clinton's Camp David proposal. Clinton had worked hard to convince Israel to do so. But Arafat's stubbornness thwarted it. Donkeys drink muddy water. Two years after the rejection, Arafat said, we agree to the Camp David proposal. But by then, a new government was in power in Israel. They announced that they would no longer accept Clinton's proposal. No better solution than Camp David has ever come before Palestine.

Just as the Bengali Pahlavis dream day and night that one day they will crush the Indians and occupy India, Hamas also sees the same. What will Israel do in this situation? What will I do if you do not accept my 'right to exist'? You are showing sympathy for Hamas while sitting in Bangladesh. But the Palestinian people themselves are not with Hamas. Their blood feud with Fatah is old. Hamas is responsible for this unimaginable predicament, Hamas' stubbornness is responsible, the entire Arab world knows this. What will the Arab world do? The Arabs have done nothing for Palestine. Whenever Saudi Arabia or Dubai take the initiative to find a solution, Hamas, in Iran's wisdom, launches some rockets. They leave them and hide them in hospitals, schools, and endanger the lives of children. The lives of women. Hamas knows very well that civilian casualties are inevitable if Israel targets them. Still, they do this repeatedly. Give some ammunition to the Bengali Palestinians tomorrow. The day after tomorrow, they will shoot it at India and inject it into the people, and if India attacks in return, the people will have to give their lives.

You are worried about Palestine, right, the whole world is worried, but it is also important to be worried about the increasing number of people with Hamas mentality in your beloved country Bangladesh. If we do not be careful of such people now, Bangladesh may also have to accept the fate of Palestine in the future.

Many people are calling the Arabs hypocrites because the Arabs do not attack Israel with their intelligence. We saw what happens when they attack in 1967. Even if so many Muslim countries attacked together, they could not survive 7 days with Israel. A large part of the territory that Israel has occupied was occupied by defeating the Arabs in 1967. War, bombs, guns, logic, and philosophical theories are ineffective in the face of these. In the minds of Bengali Palestinians, what is the guarantee that if there is another Arab-Israeli war, Israel will not occupy the whole of Palestine, or occupy any other important Arab region, or use nuclear weapons? Hamas is Iran's puppet. Why doesn't Iran fight for Hamas? Why would Jordan, Qatar, Dubai, Saudi Arabia do it? War is a matter of force. Force means occupation. I sincerely hope that the Palestinian crisis will be resolved. "Human suffering is not something to be enjoyed. But we must be careful now about those who want to turn Bangladesh into Palestine."
