Ingredients
1 slice of bread (cut into 6 slices per loaf)
[A] 1 egg
[A] 80ml milk
[A] 1 tbsp sugar
Instructions
① Dampen a bamboo steamer with water, line it with parchment paper (ensuring the edges of the paper stand up), and pour in the combined [A] mixture.
Make sure to use heat-resistant parchment paper.
② Place the slice of bread into the mixture and let it sit for about 5 minutes, flipping it halfway through so the egg mixture coats it thoroughly. Bring a generous amount of water to a boil in a pot; once steam is rising steadily, place the steamer on top. Cover with a lid and steam over medium heat for 10–12 minutes. The dish is ready when the center feels firm to a light touch—with no liquid egg mixture oozing out—and the surface has set into a plump, firm texture.
Top with powdered sugar or maple syrup, if you like, and enjoy!
