Bitter gourd stuffed with meat

 

Ingredients

・Bitter gourd ...1 stalk (approx. 250g)

・Ground pork...100g

・1/4 onion...1/4 (approx. 50g)

・Soy sauce...1 teaspoon

・Sake...1 teaspoon

・Salt...to taste

・Pepper...to taste

・Potato starch...to taste

・Sake...1 tablespoon (for steaming)

・Oyster sauce...2 teaspoons

・Mirin...2 teaspoons

・Soy sauce...1/2 teaspoon

・Sugar...1/2 teaspoon

・Sesame oil...to taste

Directions

1. Mix oyster sauce, mirin, soy sauce, and sugar together.
2. Cut the bitter melon into 1.5cm pieces and scoop out the seeds and pulp. Finely chop the onion.

3. Mix the ground pork, onion, soy sauce, sake, salt, and pepper thoroughly.
4. Coat the inside of the bitter melon with potato starch with your fingers and stuff it with the meat filling.

5. Lightly coat the surface with potato starch and fry in a heated frying pan with sesame oil.
6. Once golden brown, flip it over, add the sake, cover, and fry over low heat for 5-6 minutes.
7. Add the combined seasonings and simmer until combined.
