There is no Indra in the sky, no Yogindra in Kailash
He asks for food and cloth, what can I say, but his forehead is broken"
- Ganga Sindhu Narmada - Kazi Nazrul Islam
Indra, the king of the gods. Once a huge demon came and blocked all the flowing water in the world. There was no limit to the suffering of people due to drought and famine throughout the world. The inexperienced Indra did not even realize that he had a weapon, the thunderbolt. Although he realized it too late, he filled the bow of a thunderbolt and killed the demon on the head. That's it. All problems were solved. Seeing this, Indra was very happy. He has so much power! After that, he returned to the peak of the mountain in the center of the earth where he lived. Then he felt that his residence was not advanced enough for his ability, it had to be improved. He called the royal architect of the kingdom of gods.
The architect came and started the work of a beautiful palace. When the prasad was finished, Indra came and saw it and felt It was not advanced enough according to his ability. He kept breaking everything and building anew. When the construction was finished, the same thing happened again. Every time Indra wanted a better offering. The builder was disappointed. He thought that Indra is also immortal, why is there no end to this construction process? He got stuck in this cycle. Seeing no other way out, he went to the creator Brahma to complain. Brahma assured him, you go home, everything will be fine.
The next morning, when Indra was in his palace, an unknown boy was seen at the gate. The guard brought him to Indra. Indra asked the boy what was the reason for his coming here.
The boy said, "I heard that you are building a palace that no previous Indra has built"?
Hearing this, Indra said, "Son, what are you talking about? Which previous Indra? What does this mean?"
The boy said, "Yes, I saw many Indras, who came and went."
Vishnu was sleeping in the vast ocean of the universe. A lotus flower bloomed in his navel. Brahma, the creator, was sitting meditating on the petals of that lotus. When he opened his eyes, the universe was created, whose ruler was Indra. When he closed his eyes, the universe was destroyed. When he opened his eyes again, a new universe was created, whose ruler was a new Indra. At that moment, a row of ants was seen on the floor of the palace. The boy laughed at this. Seeing this, Indra's hair stood on end. He became impatient to know what more terrible truth awaited him.
Indra said to the boy, "Are you laughing?"
The boy said, "If you don't want to be shocked, don't ask."
Then Indra said, "I am asking you, son, give me knowledge." The boy then pointed to the ants and said, "Do you see all the previous Indras in a line? After getting a thunderbolt from an ordinary person, they think how great, powerful and superior I am. Then I become ordinary again.”
After this, Indra became so disappointed that he called the architect and asked him to stop building the palace immediately. He decided to become a yogi and practice yoga and spend the rest of his life meditating at the lotus feet of Vishnu. Hearing this, his beautiful wife Indrani was horrified. She sought help from the royal priest. The royal priest advised Indra, taking Indrani, that everyone should do the right thing considering their own current situation. He is the king of the gods. He should find a solution to all his problems politically, not through power and arrogance. The priest said, “I wrote a book on political strategy for you long ago. You are the king of the gods. You are in the best position to use your position for the welfare of all. It is your job to use it.”
Hearing this, Indra abandoned his plan to become a Yogi and focused on political education. And he realized that he was only a representative of the tradition, whose job is to give the best for the present, not to establish the most advanced kingdom of imagination through the use of force.
Even if the one who sits at the top of power is as honest as the gods and as strong as thunder, he can still make mistakes due to his arrogance and self-intoxication, and as a result, he can become a cause of fear and pain for his honest and loyal followers. The misrule coming from dishonest and cow-like characters harasses us but does not break our hearts because there is hope that honesty and good will return. There will be liberation. But when good people start to do good with bad rule and start to drown in illegal and unjust activities, our hearts break. Then it seems that what else can be hoped to save good people?
Suddenly, with the acquisition of money and power, the exercise of power has also started in the governance of Bangladesh. The only reason for this is that those in power do not understand politics. Those who are making the policy to govern Bangladesh, it can be understood by looking at the situation of the country that they are stem (STEM) mindset. Those who are professionals in science, technology, engineering or mathematics. Actually, it is not only STEM, it is applicable to any transferable knowledge. Such as economics, administration, etc. That is, their brains can only think about concrete things.
But politics is abstract. Society works, the reason behind the enthusiasm with which people rush to work every morning is also abstract. STEM mindset and military mindset are the same. In the military, the ability to think abstractly is destroyed through training and conditioning. That is why they have ruled many countries but never understood politics. They have ruled with power. Due to which politics has been damaged. Real development has come to a standstill.
If I do not understand politics, then I will no longer like people who understand politics. I will think of them as mischief-makers or conspirators. Either I will move them away or they will move away from me. Then my agility or smart wit or I would like the advice of clever people. They will surround me.
This method has worked in the Western world since World War II. Because they have been able to sustain their society until now with the sensual energy of wealth and luxury by looting from all over the world. This method has also worked in some countries of Southeast Asia. Because since World War II, their entire country has become a factory for developed countries.
Anthropologists, social scientists have repeatedly said that the people of the Indian subcontinent think differently. They think long-term, that is, on a scale of thousands of years, which Westerners or Southeast Asians cannot do. They dislike sensuality from within. They give high value to ideals (even if they are wrong). They are all philosophers. For all these deep cultural reasons, the development model of material and sensual pleasures will create chaos here. Development without ideals will empower evil forces here. That is why military power has never survived here, socialism has never come, and never will.
The current Bangladesh is therefore in the hands of that young Indra, devoid of political knowledge, who is self-absorbed by the power of his palace of development and the thunderbolt - where is that royal priest today? He is sorely needed now.
