The lion was more surprised than annoyed. The monkey did not frown. He cut the lion in half and jumped away.
The fox, observing the whole incident from the side, said to the lion, “Such rudeness with the king of the forest! And you did not say anything to him!”
The lion smiled softly and said, “The time to say is not over yet! Wait a little, you will see everything.”
A few days later, the monkey suddenly fell in front of the lion and the lion finished him off with a slap.
The fox was surprised and asked the lion, “That day the monkey did so much wrong, you did not say anything to him. But today he did not do anything, but you killed him!”
In response, the lion said, “This is politics! After that day, the monkey kicked the bear from behind! He swung on the trunk of an elephant! He danced on the back of a rhinoceros! He bit a hyena! He stabbed a tiger! And he tells everyone, "I don't respect the king! Who are you there?"
"If I had killed him that day, everyone would have said, 'I am abusing my power as king of the forest.'"
"You'll see later today, everyone will come and say, 'Thank you, Raja Sahib!'"
"You understand! Sometimes you have to lift your head with a stick. So that if you give it a hard blow, no one will think anything and the trouble will be over!"
