Garlic Pepper Beef Rice

Ingredients

・Thinly sliced beef (chopped pieces, round, or brisket/plate are all fine)... approx. 80g

・Frozen corn... approx. 2–3 tbsp

・Garlic... 1 clove

・Rice... approx. 1.5 rice-bowl servings (a generous amount)

・Butter or margarine... approx. 1 tbsp

・Salt and pepper... to taste

・A: Yakiniku sauce... approx. 1 tbsp

・A: Water... approx. 1 tbsp

・A: Soy sauce... approx. 1 tsp

・Coarsely ground black pepper... plenty

・Chopped green onions (scallions)... to taste (optional)

Instructions

1. Finely chop the garlic.

2. Add oil (not listed in ingredients) and the garlic to a frying pan and heat. Once the aroma rises (though it’s already strong from the chopping), add the beef. When the meat changes color, add the rice. Let the rice sear without stirring until it develops a nice golden-brown crust. Then, add the butter, corn, and salt and pepper, and mix vigorously. Pour in mixture A (adjusting to taste as you go), mix well, and turn off the heat.

3. Serve in a bowl, sprinkle with pepper, and scatter the green onions on top.
