"I said, instead of teaching books on any particular religion, a separate subject called 'Introduction to Religion' should be introduced in schools. Instead of teaching the rules of obligatory bathing, the punishments of hell, the history of four or five major religions should be taught to children. How religions came into the world, what are their important teachings, descriptions of the main customs and festivals of religions, these things should be told to the students. In this way, they will get acquainted with the culture of other religions, and will learn to be tolerant towards people of different religions. No one will then harbor hatred towards other religions due to the words of brainwashers. They will also be able to make a simple comparison between religions. As a result, religious fanaticism will automatically decrease in society. Many people believe that by reading the words of religious scriptures all the time, the moral character of children will improve. This is a very wrong idea. The basis of religious morality is fear. Fear destroys human character. A child who does not know what 'lies' are, who has never been introduced to theft and dishonesty, is a sinner. Those who have no idea about it are being introduced to these things in the name of religion and moral education. Children are very curious creatures. If you forbid them from doing something, they will show more interest in it. If you tell a child that lying is a great sin, then he will first want to know ‘what a lie is’ in his heart. The child will try to find out how what he says becomes a lie, and one day he will become a seasoned liar himself. Why do people in Bangladesh lie so much? Because he has been hearing since childhood that lying is a great sin. This foolish saying has introduced him to lies in his childhood. The fact that something can be a lie, that people can lie instead of the truth, is being drilled into the children’s brains. As a result, they easily resort to lies when they are in danger or afraid. But these children, when they grow up, normalize lies to fulfill their greed and interests.
That is why I keep the issue of religious education in the hands of the family. I want. Not in the school. The school will have religious introduction, religious history, cultural fusion of different religions. Cultural interaction. Without this fusion, religious intolerance will increase. Society will show intolerance in religious matters. We must remember that the main reason for intolerance is having a very high opinion of oneself. It is dangerous to think of one's own culture, one's own religion, one's own beliefs as the best. Then the culture of others, the religion of others, and the beliefs of others will seem insignificant. But if students are equally familiar with other religions along with their own religion, then they will see that other religions are not insignificant either, and their religion is not the only one that is the best. As a result, the psychological struggle for superiority, which often takes the form of brutal fistfights, will hopefully decrease. Tolerance or tolerance will also increase in society. I would like to call for the preparation of a book for children in which Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism, Confucianism, and Jainism—at least this There will be a brief introduction and history of the seven religions."
