Bean sprouts should be stored in water.
The method is to "soak the bean sprouts in water as soon as you get them home." Especially in the summer, bean sprouts can start to smell the day after you buy them, so doing this will apparently make them last an extra 3 to 4 days.
Rinse the bean sprouts quickly and place them in a storage container filled with water.
To poke holes in a bag of sprouts
Apparently, this allows the moisture in the bean sprouts to escape the bag and prevent them from spoiling,
Always store them in the refrigerator or chilled compartment.
Definitely not in the vegetable compartment!"
