A beggar knows very well that even if he praises God a hundred times, his stomach will not be filled, even if he chants a hundred names, not a single penny will fall into his bowl. He praises God to get his hands on people. In this strategy, he wants to remind people of the afterlife, and he says to give the donation in the name of God so that he himself will not have any responsibility to repay it. In this strategy of the beggar, God is nothing but a proxy. It is the same in the case of the very religious. Coercion in this world about other people's religious activities and intimidation in the hereafter is basically a strategy of obtaining worldly and psychological benefits for oneself through the proxy of religion.
