Quickly fried rape blossoms

 

[Ingredients for 4 servings]


- 1/2 to 1 pack rape blossoms


- Sansho pepper powder, to taste


- Salt, to taste


- Frying oil, to taste


<Batter>


- 1 cup plain flour


- 1 cup water


[Preparation]


- Cut off the tough parts of the rape blossom stems and soak them in plenty of water for 10 minutes to remove the bitterness.

- Preheat the frying oil to 170°C.


[Directions]


1. Dip the drained rape blossoms in the batter mixture, lightly squeeze the batter off the leaves, and place them in the oil. Fry, turning occasionally, until crispy.

2. Place in a serving dish and sprinkle with sansho pepper powder and salt.
