Ingredients (for 2 servings):
300g chicken thigh
1 new onion
1 tbsp potato starch
[A] 2 tbsp soy sauce
[A] 2 tbsp sake
[A] 2 tbsp mirin
[A] 1 tbsp sugar
[A] 1 tsp grated garlic
Instructions:
① Remove excess tendons and fat from the chicken thigh, cut into bite-sized pieces, season with salt and pepper (to taste), and coat with potato starch.
② Peel the new onion and cut into wedges (leave the root intact to prevent it from falling apart).
③ Heat salad oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Arrange the chicken from ① in the pan and cook until golden brown on both sides. Add ② to the empty spaces in the pan and cook until softened.
④ Once the chicken is cooked through, add [A] and cook until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken. Finished!
