Homemade chicken nuggets

 


Ingredients (Serves 2)


1 skinless chicken breast


1/6 medium onion


1/2 egg


<Seasonings>


1/2 teaspoon brown sugar


Less than 1 teaspoon salt


1/4 teaspoon allspice powder


1/4 teaspoon nutmeg


A pinch of pepper


2 tablespoons potato starch


1/2 teaspoon baking powder


Approx. oil for frying <Sauce>


3 tablespoons ketchup


1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce


1 teaspoon whole grain mustard


1/2 teaspoon dried oregano


<Preparation>


Mash the chicken breast with a knife until coarsely minced. Grate the onion. Crack and beat the egg. Mix the <Sauce> ingredients together.

The chicken breast will be easier to slice if it's partially thawed. Peel the skin off the chicken breasts and save them for another dish.


[Recipe]


1. Place the onion, beaten egg, and seasoning ingredients in a bowl and mix with a whisk.


2. Add the chicken breasts to (1) and mix well. Once the mixture thickens, add the potato starch and baking powder and mix. Let it rest in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.


3. Pour about 2cm of oil into a frying pan and heat over medium heat. Roll (2) into balls (about 1 tablespoon each) and place in the frying pan. Fry over low to medium heat until golden brown on both sides.


4. Place the drained (3) in a serving dish and garnish with the sauce.
