Easily remove the white fibers! How to make "smooth-skinned oranges"

Ingredients:

• Oranges... 2

• Water... 300ml

• Baking soda... 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

1. Peel the mandarin oranges and separate them into individual segments.

2. Fill a pot with water, bring it to a boil, and add baking soda to create "baking soda water."

3. Add the mandarin oranges and simmer over low heat for about 4 minutes (no need to stir).

This is what it looks like after 4 minutes. The white fibers are slightly reduced, and the thin membrane has started to dissolve.

4. After simmering, remove the oranges from the water and gently remove the remaining white fibers and thin membrane.

The white fibers come off easily, resulting in a smooth texture just like canned oranges.

The weak alkalinity of the baking soda softens the fibers, resulting in a surprisingly clean finish.
