Should you eat large cardamom regularly?

 


The medicinal properties of Indian spices have been talked about for ages in Ayurveda, the oldest medical system in this country. However, where many people do not want to accept Ayurveda as an established medical system, there were also questions about the properties of those spices. But recently, various studies have shown that Indian spices really have the power to cure various diseases. Cardamom is such a powerful spice. Which helps to keep the body warm in winter. Not only that, eating cardamom regularly in winter can give the body various benefits. So says nutritionist Ramita Kaur.


1. Provides relief from colds, coughs and breathing problems


During winter, the problem of colds, coughs or phlegm accumulation in the chest increases. Cardamom acts as a natural 'expectorant', that is, it helps to expel phlegm from the lungs and airways. It is also beneficial for asthma patients.


2. Keeps the body warm


Big cardamom contains thermogenic ingredients. It increases the body's metabolism and keeps the body warm from the inside, which provides comfort in winter by maintaining the internal temperature of the body even when the mercury outside drops.


3. Increases immunity


It contains a large amount of antioxidants and vitamin C. It strengthens the body's immunity, which protects it from winter viruses and bacterial infections.


4. Improves digestion


In winter, digestive problems often occur due to less water intake and reduced physical exercise. Big cardamom helps in the secretion of digestive juices in the intestines, which eliminates problems like gas, heartburn and constipation. Chewing it after eating heavy meals improves digestion.


5. Increases skin radiance


In winter, the skin becomes dry and dull. Big cardamom improves blood circulation and removes toxins from the body, which helps invigorate the skin and restore its radiance.


6. Eliminates bad breath and gum problems


Many people experience gum problems or toothache in winter. The anti-bacterial properties of large cardamom help in eliminating bad breath and reducing gum infections.


Caution: Since this spice increases the body temperature, it is better not to eat too much. Half or 1 large cardamom a day is enough. If you feel that you are having problems with your body after eating too much, try eating less. The smell and taste of large cardamom are very strong. Therefore, if you use too much in cooking, the taste can be bitter.
