Bitter Melon and Tuna Salad with Mayo-Ponzu Dressing

 


[Ingredients] (Serves 2)


Bitter melon (halved lengthwise) 1/2


Salt 1 tsp


Onion 1/4


Canned tuna (70g) 1 can


Mayonnaise 1.5 tbsp


Ground white sesame seeds 1.5 tbsp


Ponzu soy sauce 1 tsp


[Preparation]


1. Remove the seeds and pith from the bitter melon using a spoon. Slice thinly (2–3 mm wide), rub with salt, let sit for about 5 minutes, and squeeze out the released moisture. Blanch in boiling water for about 1 minute, rinse in cold water, and drain in a colander. Squeeze firmly to remove all excess water.

2. Thinly slice the onion. Lightly drain the oil from the tuna.


[Instructions]


1. Combine the <Dressing> ingredients in a bowl, add the bitter melon and tuna, toss to coat, and serve in a dish.
