Apple jam

 


Ingredients

・2 apples (380g)


・150g white sugar


・3 tablespoons lemon juice (store-bought)


Directions

⒈ Cut the apples into 8 equal pieces, peel, core, and thinly slice.

⒉ Place everything in a small pot and let sit for 30 minutes.

*Water will be released.

⒊ Place the pot over medium heat, bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat and simmer, skimming off the scum. (15 minutes)

*Skimming off the scum will result in a delicious, beautiful finish.

⒋ Gradually reduce the heat (if using an induction cooktop, reduce the heat one by one until it's simmering) and simmer, stirring carefully to prevent burning, until the liquid is almost gone, then turn off the heat. You will feel a weight as you stir towards the end. (15 minutes)

⒌ Immediately transfer the mixture to a clean jar or other container while it's still hot.
