Chicken meatballs made with ground chicken and lotus root

 


Ingredients:

200g ground chicken

150g lotus root

[A] 1 egg

[A] 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs

[A] 1 tablespoon potato starch

[A] 1 tablespoon sake

[A] salt to taste

[A] pepper to taste

[B] 1 tablespoon soy sauce

[B] 1 tablespoon mirin

[B] 1 teaspoon sugar

1/2 tablespoon mayonnaise

Instructions:

① In a bowl, combine the ground chicken, finely chopped lotus root, and [A] and knead.

② Roll ① into bite-sized balls.

③ Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil (not included in the ingredients list) in a frying pan over medium heat. Place ② in the pan and brown both sides. Add 1 tablespoon of water (not included in the ingredients list), cover, and steam-fry for about 3 minutes. Add [B] and simmer until thickened, then top with mayonnaise and it's done!

Serve with chopped green onions or sesame seeds if desired!
